Well, I am sure that keeping a site running requires constant update, but the two subjects I am taking at the University of York alongside my current job leave me little time to do anything other than studying! Nonetheless, a website is a great tool to keep family, friends and the world informed of our activities and as such, it calls for an update at least once a week. Maybe a blog would have been a better idea, but I am not vey keen of them so I will try to keep it simple and short. Or maybe I might add a blog module to this site after all. Let's see. This is the second week of November and a week of due papers at the University. We are currently devising a new Electronic Musical Instrument for one of the subjects and our group thought about building an instrument called TrampoLine, mainly because, as you might have guessed, it resembles a trampoline. Gladly, we do not have to jump on to play it, as it is planned to be a 30 cm diameter structure, that you play with both hands. The next post will have a 3D model of it. Ed, a team mate has ordered some sensors and we plan to test them with an arduino board as soon as they arrive. I am also experimenting running this project with a project management software I had contact with in the past, Netoffice, and I am astonished on how things are running smoothly. Definitely a must for the other projects to come. Thursday I had a great surprise and enjoyment filling in for Ed Dowie as the camera operator for the University of York Web Streaming of the Department of Music Practical Project. It was good fun to spend a few hours with remotely controlled cameras, a Max/MSP patch to drive them and most importantly knowing that many viewers were enjoying my broadcast. Yay! :) Hopefully another of those opportunities come along in the future. Tonight Coritiba plays for a chance of being the champion of the Brazilian Second Football Division and the weekend might have hard partying in storeto celebrate its victory! That said, Deborah is now running around on a bike we recently got her and to my surprise she is enjoying riding it. Let me see if I can get her to put a simple site of her own. That's it for this week. Send me a line if you got this far! :) |
